David writes:
We have not been here long enough to evaluate the true spiritual condition of the church in this part of Sri Lanka, but first impressions tell us these believers are mature and definitely equipped to handle the word accurately, plant churches, and stand strong in their spiritual lives. The one hour and forty-five minutes of worship in the Sinhalese service this past Sunday morning is an easy match for some of the purest worship we've experienced in the USA. The river of God was flowing deep and clean in that Sunday service, with a sweetness and beauty that is satisfying our hungry our hearts.
We've been enjoying many opportunities to encourage the believers through our teaching and testimony. These opportunities are being opened to us through the generosity of the lead pastor at our host church.
We are grateful to be surrounded by God's beautiful Sri Lankan people during this season. We will return to India with a resolve to see the church there enter into a fuller experience of God's presence, grace, and love.
