Return to India

David writes:
"When are you going back to India?” We hear this question several times a week from our friends and supporters.

We feel like we’re living in two worlds right now, stretched between the Indian ministry in Uttar Pradesh and the work we are doing on their behalf here in the USA. Our hearts are still in India, and we long to return so we can continue the work we were doing last year: supporting our Indian team, teaching pastors at leadership training events, and loving 32 beautiful children at Blue Haven Children’s Home.

TellAsia Ministries needs us in the USA to help develop the infrastructure of the ministry in this country. The church planting work in India has become a grassroots movement, and there is a huge need for additional resources from the USA: partner churches, funding, teachers, short-term teams, foundation grants. One of the big reasons we came back to the USA was so we could work on behalf of TellAsia to help build these partnerships and generate these resources.

Another reason for our return was to spend time with Shari’s parents, who live one hour south of us in Salem, Oregon. They are now in their 80’s and cherish every hour they get to visit with us. We feel the same way about them!

Recently we talked openly with them about our sense of calling to continue serving God in other nations. It will never be easy for them to release us to go back to India, but we have a strong sense that the day is coming when we will get back on the plane.

Thank you for standing with us as we serve TellAsia in the USA, strengthen the work in India, and as David completes some schooling in nonprofit management. Our continual prayer is that it would all be for God’s glory among the nations.
